Note: Registration takes place via waiting list. To get a fixed spot in our scientific seminar please directly contact the supervisor of the topic you are interested in via mail. All topics are available on our website (and here under 'additional information') and are assigned exclusively by the respective supervisors.

Objectives

After participating in the module course, students are able to work on a circuit concept for specific applications in a scientific way, to present the results in front of a professional audience and to engage in a discussion of the results.

Description

In this seminar the state of the art of application specific sensor systems and circuits shall be evaluated. Integrated circuit concepts and their application specific needs will be the core topic of the research. The participants - in close contact to scientific staff members of the chair - will work out the state of the art in current scientific topics. A list of the topics offered for research are published on the homepage of the chair. In addition to the individual support by the scientific staff, two lectures on the soft skill topics of literature research, on how to write publications and on the art of a good presentation will be offered

Prerequisites

Electronic devices. Semiconductor physics, Basics in analog circuit design, Lecture EI74341 Mixed-Signal Electronics

Teaching and learning methods

Regular discussions (online/in presence) with the assigned supervisor about the progress of the work and the procedure. Online presentation of the results (15 min.) with subsequent discussion (5 min.) (50%). Written elaboration of the results as a term paper (50%) in the form of a scientific paper in IEEE style (4 pages).

Examination

Presentations and discussion of research topics at the chair for circuit design

Recommended literature

Literature will be discussed during the lecture and can be accessed via TUM library.
