TUMEndtdeckerinnen - Schoolgirls build air measuring station

TUM Entdeckerinnen is a program designed to get female pupils interested in MINT courses of study. As part of this programme eight schoolgirls from all over Germany built their own station to measure air quality. Within four days the participants were able to gain their own station to measure air quality. Within four days the participants were able to gain their first practical insights into electrical engineering. From soldering the circuit boards, programming the microcontroller and calibrating the sensor to designing an app, an exciting handcraft project was realised without much theory. During a visit to the Department of Environement Sensor technoloy, the student also gained an insight into research on the topic of air quality n Munich at the TUM.

Many thanks for this to Prof.Jia Chen and Adrian Wenzel.
