TUM is one of the top 50 universities in 10 subjects with the QS World University Rankings by Subject

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is globally one of the 50 best universities with the QS World University Rankings by Subject.
This refers to both, engineering and natural sciences.
TUM is one of the top 50 in 10 individual subjects and in top 25 rankings.

This universities survey of academics and employers is performed by the British QS Quacquarelli Symonds.
For the quality of research the surveys include the number of citations of published papers.
The survey emphasis is evaluated by the maintained environments of the different subject disciplines.

The current survey ranks TUM as
no. 29 in Engineering and Technology
no. 31 in Natural Sciences.
Which means that TUM is thus number one in Germany in both subjects.

no. 22 in Physics / Astronomy (in Germany no.1)
no. 23 in Architecture / Built environment (in Germany no.2)

In these surveys, TUM is no. 50 and outstanding as the best European university.
TUM ranks as top German university for 6 years in succession.

The current THE World University Rankings by Subject shows TUM globally an excellent university as

no. 24 in engineering
no. 25 in physical sciences, including subjects of natural sciences
