The TUM Center for Quantum Engineering (ZQE) is a Central Scientific Institution of the Technical University of Munich. The NQS team is part of the ZQE and hopes to swiftly settle and build up its research infrastructure inside the new institution.
Among the first major tasks during the move was the careful transport and installation of several precision optical tables, the backbone of the group's optical experiments. These tables, known for their vibration absorbing properties, were transported with the help of an in-house engineered optical table mover. Relocating such heavy and massive objects requires meticulously high care and precision. With the new building boasting increased laboratory space, the team is finally able to accelerate research timelines and accommodating more simultaneous experiments than ever before.
To foster stronger interpersonal relationships, the ZQE directory board hosted a institute-wide barbecue event. Colleagues from multiple research units attended, exchanging ideas over grilled fare in an informal setting. The gathering not only marked the successful relocation of most groups but also reflected the collaborative spirit that the new space seeks to promote.
